“The best way out is always through.”
Psychotherapy does not aim to fix you – you are not broken.
It helps you access and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and actions. Psychotherapy helps you create lasting change.
How can psychotherapy help?
Although we may be trying our hardest, sometimes we can feel overwhelmed and unable to cope, or that our lives have taken a wrong turn. We can be plagued by depression, anxiety, grief or going through difficult life transitions. Or we may have mental illness, trauma or neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD that continue to get in our way and stop us flourishing.
Psychotherapy offers a supportive and non-judgemental place to come to a fuller experience of ourselves and make enduring change. I will work with you to explore where you are now, the person you want to be and the way you want to live.
A deeper understanding of yourself enables you to resolve the underlying issues that get in your way and build the capacities to face your fears, respond to life’s challenges in more helpful ways and develop more creative ways of living. To build good relationships with yourself and others and make emotionally informed choices about your life.
Working with Marie
Psychotherapy is a collaborative relationship. I will work with you in a supportive and non-judgemental way, moving at your pace and tailoring my approach to your needs.
Psychotherapy is most effective if you come regularly. The standard is once a week, although some people come more or less frequently. We can find a frequency that suits you. Each session is for 50 minutes.
We can work together in person, online or over the phone, or a combination.

What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a form of talking therapy grounded in the idea that we need to build our sense of personal value and understand the reasons we feel, think and behave the way we do to change, to find less painful, more gratifying ways of living. Psychotherapy is focused on working with causes rather treating symptoms, although symptom management is part of the overall approach.
Psychotherapy provides a safe and supportive space for people who suffer from depression, anxiety, are going through life transitions or are survivors of trauma to access specialised, evidence-based treatment. It is also helpful for sufferers of more severe mental illness.
Psychotherapy also offers a safe and supportive space for those who seek to explore and deepen their understanding of themselves and their lives to create more fulfilling ways of living.
